Under the direction and instruction of Mrs. Monica Schraiber Otero, this Art Camp is a three-week program during the month of July for ages 5-11. Focusing on Creativity, Imagination and Ingenuity, Art Camp offers children a unique opportunity to acquire or improve artistic skills, learn new techniques, explore different materials and get inspired by famous artists. All while having fun!

Central Theme for 2024: Masterful Masterpieces
Discover famous works of art in an imaginary trip to museums around the world. Learn about da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, van Gogh’s Starry Night, Picasso’s Three Musicians, Monet’s
Japanese Bridge, Seurat’s A Sunday Afternoon and many others! Themed creations vary each day as participants learn about the history, the style of the great masters that produced the wondrous pieces. Prints, masks, sculptures, pottery, sand drawings and tiles as well as abstracts, landscapes, still lifes and portraits are examples of the work put together in this exciting multimedia experience!

  • During each cycle, students create a small acrylic painting on canvas suitable for framing and they design their own Camp T-shirts.
  • Draw using wet and dry media, sculpt with air-dry clay, construct using recycled and natural materials, make collages and much more!
  • Draw and paint outdoors at beautiful Best Lake located behind the building.
  • Up to three different projects are done every day.
  • Visual presentations are part of the lessons. Children are encouraged to share their knowledge of art museums and galleries

Art Camp culminates with an exhibition featuring work from all three cycles.

  • Students play games in the upstairs Gallery in between activities.
  • Art Camp culminates with an exhibition in the Lower Gallery and the Studio featuring work completed during the 3 weeks.
